A Personal Reflection
Emma and I didn’t set out to land in the indie blues space. We just started creating music that felt honest to us. Somewhere between her classical training and vocal intuition, and my late introduction to guitar and obsession with blues history, something clicked. The result has been a blend of melody and rhythm that lives in its own pocket — sometimes raw, sometimes haunting, sometimes gentle.
We’re still shaping it. Still learning. But in many ways, I think that’s the essence of indie blues — honoring the spirit of the music while leaving space for reinvention. What we write comes from our day-to-day — the quiet, the chaos, the in-between moments when a line or riff catches hold and turns into something more.
What’s Next for Us
We’ve only just begun releasing original music, but it’s been a meaningful shift — from experimenting in our living room to recording our first studio track. That project is in production now, and we’re looking forward to sharing it soon.
We’ve also been performing more, including a set of all-original songs at the Flagstaff Folk Festival. That milestone hit a little deeper than expected, and it reminded us how much we value connection through music.
